I bealive a lof of other reviewers on here didn't know this was a eco drive watch (citizens way of saying solar powered) and they thought they recieved a broken watch. I also did a reset to zero when I received it, I was to impatient to wait for the watch to connect to the radio signal and set itself. This watch is atomic meaning it connects to a signal and automatically sets the watch for you everyday. So you never have to set it again. This happens around 2-3am every morning. I just sit my watch in a window with the crown facing the tower, in my case ft. Collins Colorado. I believe the rage is about 1,600 miles so if you are farther than that in North America you might not connect to the signal. Okay now to get into the things I love and things that a like. Honestly I don't hate anything about this watch. I'll star with what most reviewer have complained about on this model. The strap the terrible strap: Honestly it's actually pretty good. I mean is it amazing no but it's not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. It's a little stiff at first. But it breaks in nicely after about a full days wear. I actually really enjoy wearing it. Accuracy: it's perfect all the time. I can't say anymore than that. Lume: It has beautiful blue lume. Pretty bright at first but dies out pretty quickly. As noted in some other reviews, the band is initially quite stiff, but after about 5 weeks of daily use, it has loosened up and is very comfortable. If I have to find something to complain about, it is the slide rule bezel. But, there really is no way of making the numbers large, without increasing the size of the dial beyond the reasonable for a writ watch, so just accept the decorative value, and have a cheap calculator around. Edit: After about 18 months of pretty steady use the watch band was beginning to show signs of wear and tear at the buckle, but more importantly, it stopped working properly. I've never seen a watch where the buckle has sharp edges on the inside, but now I've seen it all. Your options with this band are to wear it so loose that the watch constantly rotates around your wrist, or suffer the sharp edges of the buckle digging into your inner wrist. Those are your options. Get this watch. It's great. But get the version with the bracelet like I should have. Update 3JAN15: I couldn't stand the stock band any longer, so I replaced it. For those of you that are curious, Hadley-Roma makes a blue 24MM silicone strap that fits perfectly, matches and is incredibly comfortable. The watch does have a 23MM lug width, but the spring bars are curved and a flexible 24MM band fits well and looks great.I have several watches but wear this one almost every day. It great looking, comfortable and works perfectly. There are many complaints written here about the band. It is leather and as you can see from the attached pictures has not deteriorated in the year I have been wearing it. I do wish the band was a half inch longer but so be it. Not a big deal. It took 11 weeks to get the watch back to me (I can only blame 10 of those on the service process, Canada Post managed to take more than 10 days to deliver it!). On return it worked fine and was synchronized, but within a day or two it went back to exactly the same behaviour as before. I am not convinced that it was actually serviced. It is now in the mail, back to the vendor, so we'll see. I am not happy with the watch failing at all after such relatively short time, and I am even less happy that it too so long for a (non)service. Of course it may just be this one watch that has problems, or it could be a batch problem, with some bad part from a supplier with poor quality control. Instead of replacing my band under warranty, they only offered me a discount to buy a new replacement. We recommend you expose your Eco-Drive to the sunlight from time to time. According to our data, both solar and rechargeable cells will last more than 10 years. It is speculated that initial capacities may wane up to 20 per cent over 20 years; however, we do not expect this to interfere with the use of the watch. Does this mean Eco-Drive watches are completely maintenance free. With regard to water resistant models: in order to maintain the water resistance quality, we recommend you replace the gaskets in regular intervals. Gaskets age and deteriorate while being used or even just in storage. The gears in watches also wear little by little. Therefore, regular maintenance by qualified watchmakers or authorised service centres is recommended in order to extend the life of your watch. The solar cells stop generating electricity if a lack of light energy occurs. In order to avoid losing energy, the second hand stops at the position of 12 o'clock. In some models both the minute and second hands stop (Power Save 1 mode). When light falls on the dial, the watch will resume normal operation. If lacking light energy for three days, the calendar will also stop to further minimise energy loss (Power Save 2 mode). As before, once light is available to the dial again, the watch will resume normal operation.

Wipe both the inside and outside of your strap daily with a soft dry cloth to remove collected contaminants. If your strap becomes saturated with moisture either from water or perspiration, be sure to allow the strap to completely dry before wearing the watch again. You should also inspect the buckle and pin connections to ensure the moisture has not loosened any connections on the strap that could result in loss of your timepiece. Using an old soft toothbrush and a mild dish detergent and water, thoroughly cleanse the inside and outside of the strap.

Completely rinse off any soap residue and then thoroughly dry the strap. If you expose your strap to salt water, be sure to rinse it with clear water as soon as possible. A rubber protectant may also be used to keep the strap pliable and extend lifespan. What kind of care is required. When drops of moisture are on the glass surface, the inside can become foggy. This phenomenon is caused by the water outside on the glass cooling the inner air under the glass, and causing condensation. If the condensation dissipates a couple of minutes after the glass surface is dried, there is no concern. However, if the watch stays foggy for a longer time, there may be trouble with water sealing. Gaskets in your watch deteriorate as they age and damage to the sealing can allow water to intrude.
